[Andreas]: Our hiking group did this trip by cross-country-skiing in February. It was a wonderful scenery like a winter-wonderland with sparkling snow everywhere! At the parking lot "Grenzadler" is a snack bar. This tour is directly next to Oberhof and really recommended when you start from there your beginner-friendly skiing tour.
