Heyda Lake

This resevoir lake is close to Ilmenau and Thuringian Forest. Since it is not in the mountains the hiking trails are even and easy to walk.

The special upside is a very long beach where you have a good access to the water and can go swimming! At the Dam there is a snack bar and a restaurant. The closest Train stations are:

  • Martinroda

  • Plaue

  • Ilmenau
