Lakes and Damms

Hohenwarte Talsperre

It is probably the most beautiful lake in Thuringia. The closest train station is Kaulsdorf and it is about 10 km far away.

You can take very beautiful photos, rent boats, and even do camping.

Tips:

• You can rent the boat for about 3-10 Euro per person. You can find the renting place in the map below.

• There is a snack bar next to the big dam

• A bus station is situated next to it (bus does not go on weekends!)

• If you are more than 2 people: Group Ticket

• If you are alone: Hopper-Ticket till Saalfeld + single ticket from Saalfeld to Kaulsdorf
